Busy Boris's heavy workload ; He takes on job of overseeing transport and will resume his columns

BORIS JOHNSON maintained the frantic pace of his mayoralty today as it emerged that he will personally oversee London's transport as well as resume his newspaper columns.

Less than a week after confirming that he will chair the Metropolitan Police Authority, the Mayor made a surprise announcement that he would also chair the Transport for London board. His intentions emerged as the Standard learned that he will be paid around [pounds]250,000 a year for writing for the Daily Telegraph. The money will be on top of his Mayor's salary of [pounds]137,579.
