Now that some glorious sunshine is finally blessing the UK, our
thoughts should turn to conserving water during the summer. It's not
just the time of year when we're used to hose-pipe bans and water
shortages; we shower and bathe more often, too. But there are some
steps everyone can take to ease the situation.
Having a brief shower rather than a deep bath is one of the
easiest ways to do this. A two-minute shower uses about 12 litres of
water, compared to 80 litres for a bath. But having ethically chosen
a shower in preference to a bath, you can go further.
