Article: StoresOnline Inc. to pay $130G in claims

HARTFORD -- State Attorney General Richard Blumenthal announced Tuesday that StoresOnline Inc., a company that charges consumers to establish online businesses or create Web sites for existing companies, will pay $130,000 to the state and in restitution to consumers in a settlement agreement. The company also operates under the name Imergent Inc. The agreement announced Tuesday settles allegations that the company's online businesses made exaggerated and deceptive claims regarding its virtual storefronts.

The company will pay $65,000 to the state and another $65,000 in restitution to Connecticut consumers, Blumenthal said.

Company officials could not be reached for comment Tuesday.
