Breastfeeding mums with milk to spare could become part of an
express delivery service to help thirsty babies.
The Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital is launching a community breast
milk donor service.
The first hospital in the South West to operate such a system, it
hopes mums will be able to donate excess breast milk to give other
babies the best start in life.
The scheme works as part of a new satellite milk bank service.
Previously, the Neo Natal Unit at the hospital only stored
expressed breast milk for premature or unwell babies.
But as a satellite milk bank it can now accept, store and donate
the milk given by women in the local community to the milk bank at
