Health chiefs were criticised yesterday for planning to axe
Wiltshire's air ambulance and replace it with a worse service
outside the county.
Today, the Western Daily Press launches a campaign to save the
flying paramedics as MPs and even trust board members back our
appeal to keep the under-threat service.
Bosses at Great Western Ambulance Service Trust (GWAS) want a
regional air ambulance covering most of the West - at the expense
of Wiltshire's renowned service.
Wiltshire will lose out - even though it doesn't cost the NHS
chiefs a penny to keep the air ambulance in the sky.
Yesterday, MPs in the county described the plans from GWAS as
"absolutely scandalous", and backed our appeal to ...
