Article: Messy cleanup adds to anger over cell tower framingham

Framingham residents blasted the Archdiocese of Boston for a cemetery cleanup that they say overturned grave markers and served as a disturbing prelude to the proposed construction of a cell tower on the property.

The archdiocese, which owns St. George's Cemetery, has agreed to lease a portion of the 300-year-old graveyard to T-Mobile USA Inc. A company representative went before Framingham's Zoning Board of Appeals on Monday night seeking approval for the 100-foot tower, to be placed near a wooded section off Cherry Street and Upper Jocelyn Avenue.
