Div. III North Ridgeville District Hillsdale knocked out in 9

NORTH RIDGEVILLE -- Hillsdale High School's softball team allowed two runs in the top of the ninth inning of Wednesday afternoon's Div. III district semifinal against Columbia, and fell 3-1.

The Falcons finish the season at 24-4, while the Raiders move on in postseason play at 23-2.

This is the first time Hillsdale hasn't played for a district championship since 2004.

According to Columbia coach Ken Richardson, he and his team didn't worry about Hillsdale's rich softball history.
