Last year residents of the South West received an estimated
331million items of junk mail.
It is also estimated that an additional 4.5 million pieces of
junk mail were sent to dead people in the region.
The figures were released today by data asset management
specialists the REaD Group.
The company's chief executive officer, Mark Roy, said: "Whilst
the distress caused by these unsolicited mailings to grieving family
members and friends is incalculable, these figures do,
unfortunately, support earlier research undertaken by us which found
that upwards of one-third of direct mail is regularly dispatched by
companies without any name or ...
