Hull's adopted Royal Navy warship is sailing to the Caribbean
this week as part of a six-month operation in the North Atlantic.
Hms Iron Duke will be stationed in the waters around the
Caribbean Islands during the August to October hurricane season,
ready to assist should any adverse weather hit the area.
The warship will also be working closely with the US Coast Guard
supporting the hunt for drug smugglers across the Caribbean region.
In preparation for the North Atlantic deployment, the crew
completed an eight-week course of intensive training, focusing on
core war fighting roles, to fully equip them for any challenges they
may face during the next six months.
