LENNOX
Student earns scholarship
Yania Escobar, a student of the Lennox Math, Science and
Technology Academy, is one of 26 high school seniors statewide
sharing $50,000 in scholarships awarded by the financial advisory
firm Caldwell Flores Winters Inc.
The CFW Foundation - the company's philanthropic arm - annually
honors grads who overcome obstacles in their pursuit of a post-
secondary education.
Yania "excelled in her academics and is actively involved" on
campus, said Lennox School District Superintendent Bruce McDaniel.
"Yania is a student for which no challenge is insurmountable,"
McDaniel said. "(Her) courageous attitude toward life is admirable
and has served as an inspiration. ...
