ROBERT MUGABE defied an EU travel ban to fly into Italy for a
food crisis summit.
The 84-year-old Zimbabwe president arrived in the Italian capital
last night with his wife Grace and agriculture minister Rugare
Gumbo.
It was Mr Mugabe's first trip outside Zimbabwe since contested
elections were held in March. Although he is the subject of an EU
travel ban, the Rome summit is organised by the UN, which means he
can attend.
