BLOOMINGTON - A man accused of being a midlevel gang member in
Bloomington-Normal was sentenced to 17 years in prison on a weapons
charge Thursday.
Jermaine Criddell, 23, of Normal was identified by police
witnesses as a subordinate, middle manager for the Black P Stones
street gang during his sentencing Thursday afternoon on a charge of
unlawful use of weapons. A jury convicted him in March of possessing
a gun but acquitted him of firing a handgun at people Aug. 7 in the
700 block of Orlando Avenue in Normal.
