I thought it was going to be a great summer, but now I'm not so
sure.
As a kid, I had three big adventure-fiction go-tos: Batman, Star
Wars and Indiana Jones. I made Batman costumes out of paper shopping
bags (mask) and bath towels (cape). I made lightsabers out of
lengths of PVC pipe. And my favorite toy as a child? The bullwhip I
made out of cheap Home Depot rope, a piece of PVC pipe and some duct
tape.
I had a wide-brimmed safari hat and a leather jacket I stole from
a friend, and my Indiana Jones outfit was complete. As kid growing
up in Moreno Valley, I very rarely took the outfit off.
So this summer, all three of my favorite fiction sagas have
movies coming out: Batman in "The Dark ...
