Wilhelmina Bell-Taylor, founder and chief executive of Betah
Associates, a management consulting company in Bethesda focused on
reaching minority and low-income communities, died April 24 at her
home in Silver Spring. She had lung cancer. She was 60.
Mrs. Bell-Taylor started Betah in 1988 and worked on promoting
health information and community revitalization initiatives as well
as training in communications and technical assistance.
The company coordinated outreach and media efforts during Surgeon
General David Satcher's initiative to educate minorities about the
risks of contracting HIV/AIDS.
Inc. and Black Enterprise magazines recognized Betah for its
