Nobody around the San Francisco Giants can say what they really
feel about the debacle that is the Barry Zito situation. Because if
they did, it would sound like this:
Owner Peter Magowan: "How do I feel about the contract? This guy
is stealing money from me. And there's absolutely nothing I can do
about it. How would you feel?"
Manager Bruce Bochy: "I can't keep running this guy out there
with his 85 mph fastball every five days to pitch batting practice
to the opposition and put us in a six-run hole in the first inning.
So I'm going to try to hide him in the bullpen. God help us."
Zito: "Yeah, I'm stealing money. Millions of dollars every month.
