Charles Lane's criticism of Yale student Aliza Shvarts's intended
senior art project ["The Art of Folly at Yale," op-ed, May 3], an
installation that supposedly was to include video recordings of
self-induced miscarriages, is itself a testament to the project's
success. Creativity is all too often relegated to the sidelines of
our cultural discourse, and Ms. Shvarts should be proud that her
work has attracted so much attention.
