Article: Rock Bridge baseball team beats storms to blow out Jeff City

JEFFERSON CITY - After scoring nine runs in the top of the first inning yesterday at Vivion Field, about the only thing that could have prevented the Rock Bridge baseball team from defeating Jefferson City were the ominous dark clouds rolling in from the south.

The clouds brought a light sprinkling of rain and 40-minute lightning delay, but they did not prevent a Bruins victory.

The storm eventually blew over, allowing the Bruins to blow away Jefferson City 17-5 in six innings.

"I was spooked there for a second," Rock Bridge catcher Kevin Gribble said. "We finally jump out to a big lead, and it starts raining.
