Michael Cooke, who had been editor in chief of the Chicago Sun-
Times between 2000 and early 2005, will become editor in chief of all
Sun-Times News Group papers, starting Monday.
The group includes the Sun-Times and about 100 suburban titles,
such as the Daily Southtown and the Naperville Sun.
John Barron, 48, the current Sun-Times editor in chief, will be
promoted to a groupwide role as executive editor of the Sun-Times
News Group. In this role, Barron will be responsible for operations
at the Sun-Times and all of the news group's more than 100 titles and
editions.
