OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - May 1, 2008) - The Portrait
Gallery of Canada, a program of Library and Archives Canada, is
launching a national biennial commissioning program. Canadians will
be invited to nominate living individuals who have made a difference
to their communities or to our country and whose portraits would
enhance the national portrait collection.
The program will be announced by the Director General of the
Portrait Gallery, Dr. Lilly Koltun, in four cities: Vancouver,
Toronto, Montreal, and Halifax. Artists will also be invited to
submit portfolios.
During the summer, the Portrait Gallery will receive nominees
