Tony La Russa is a hard guy to know, a walking enigma. Perhaps
that's the point.
His searing intensity in the St. Louis Cardinals' dugout is
legendary. Like in the platinum-selling song by Corey Hart, he wears
sunglasses at night - anything he can do to keep his emotions hidden
from the opposition.
There's no hiding his emotions when it comes to animals, however.
He appeared at Evansville Commerce Bank in the Hulman Building on
Sunday night to benefit his Animal Rescue Foundation, taking the
time beforehand to talk to Josh Miller in the hallway. Confined to a
wheelchair, Miller had his canine companion, Dolly, by his side.
