The older generation is embracing a new-generation fad --
electronic gaming using portable consoles -- and have nicknamed it
"Nantendo".
At least 20 residents at Linwood's Guardian at Parkwood rest home
and hospital have been refining their gaming skills daily as part of
a five- month trial of Nintendo's Wii console. Its success may see
the technology typically reserved for teenagers used in other rest
homes.
The consoles, which are marketed as suitable for anyone, are
wireless remotes fitted with motion- sensor technology. They
simulate game equipment such as a tennis racket, steering wheel or
