In the interests of kitchen economies I offer this recipe for a
cheap homemade green-tomato relish adapted from Digby Law's Pickle &
Chutney Book (Hodder Moa).

Try this:
Put 1 cup (250g) chopped green tomatoes and 1 chopped medium
onion in a shallow container, sprinkle with salt and leave
overnight.
Next day, drain the vegetables (discard the salty liquid) and put
