INSIDE PITCH
PLAYER OF THE GAME
Ryan Braun had a monster game, going 3 for 5 and reaching base
four times, once on an error. He had a home run in the sixth inning
that tied the game, then a two-run double in the top of the ninth
that put the Brewers ahead for good.
TURNING POINT
It came in the top of the ninth inning when Chicago Cubs closer
Kerry Wood was summoned from the bullpen. Wood hit a batter and gave
up two hits to start the inning. Then Braun's double proved to be
the game-winning hit as Eric Gagne came in and did what Wood could
not -- close it out.
