Article: Are charity shops recycling?

How does the saying go? 'One person's rubbish is another person's treasure'. Or is it?

I have lived in the centre of Bath for several years now and have started to notice the green bags that have been appearing outside certain charity shops.

Looking into this a little more closely I have found out that the charity shops are disposing of goods such as cookery and children's books, kitchen utensils, annuals, children's toys - I could go on.

These green bags are then collected and taken to a recycling ...
