Kind-hearted crew members from HMS Iron Duke have taken time out
of their busy schedule to help renovate an east Hull play area.
The crew of Hull's official war ship asked Hull City Council if
there was a project they could take part in and yesterday helped
give the Barnsley Street play area a face lift.
About 15 crew members spent all day helping transform the
playground.
Lieutenant commander Andy Rowlands said: "We always look to have
an impact on the community and give some-thing back."
Trish Dalby, head of Streetscene Services at Hull City Council,
said: "Barnsley Street play area had started to look a little tired
and we knew the work they'd do would be appreciated by the
community."
