Article: Don't be so hard on Harriet ; What a spiteful letter by Colin Richey about Harriet Harman. A "humourless harridan harperson" indeed. The deputy Labour Party leader and Leader of the House of Commons doesn't ooze false flirty charm, she's not an MP with fluttering eyelids and a flash of thigh. Perhaps that's what Colin wants in a female politician, and anyone more assertive is a threat to his masculinity.

What a spiteful letter by Colin Richey about Harriet Harman. A
"humourless harridan harperson" indeed. The deputy Labour Party
leader and Leader of the House of Commons doesn't ooze false flirty
charm, she's not an MP with fluttering eyelids and a flash of thigh.
Perhaps that's what Colin wants in a female politician, and anyone
more assertive is a threat to his masculinity.
I've only met Harriet Harman three times, the last occasion when
she was the only deputy leadership candidate who took time to
venture into the far South West and meet Labour Party members in a
Camborne living room.
She comes across as a bit po-faced and serious but as I spoke to
her I remembered an incident 20 years ago ...
