Every Tuesday at the church rooms in School Lane, Countess Wear,
Exeter, you'll find a group of people enjoying a spot of coffee or
tea and playing word games. Wander in on a Thursday and you'll find
the room buzzing with arts and crafts.
A hive of activity, and for many people a lifeline, these weekly
informal groups offer participants a chance to get out of the house
and make friends.
Joan and Brian Bolt, of Exe Vale Road, have been running the
coffee and crafts mornings for more than 10 years, but their help
and kindness stretch far beyond the walls of the meeting room - so
much so that they have been awarded the Echo's Bouquet of the Week
in recognition.
