E Riding: A food company has scooped a major award at Yorkshire
Business Insider magazine's 42 under 42 event.
Living Salads, based in Wyton, near Preston, won the best start-
up business accolade at a ceremony in Leeds.
The business was started by entrepreneur Andrew Jackson in his
garden shed after he was made redundant.
It is now supplies most major supermarkets nationwide and is
branching out to supply the catering and restaurant trades.
Mr Jackson said: "I'm really chuffed to have won this award.
"Starting out in the back garden shed, I never dreamt the
business would take off as it has.
"I always maintain that as long as your product focus is on
quality, success will follow."
