The bosses of the West's ambulance service said Wiltshire's Air
Ambulance "did not need saving" yesterday - but could not guarantee
the county would still have its own designated helicopter in years
to come.
The chairman of the Great Western Ambulance Service angrily
denied claims his trust had a "hidden agenda" to scrap Wiltshire's
air ambulance and replace it with one based in Filton.
And he said people had "put two and two together and come up with
five" over fears the county's much-supported air ambulance service
would be regionalised.
Yesterday, the Western Daily Press launched a campaign to save
the Wiltshire Air Ambulance, which people in the county raise about
pounds400,000 to pay ...
