Radio 2 DJ Brian Matthew, on his Saturday 'Sounds of the 60s'
show, revealed North Lincolnshire's Ian 'Matthews' Macdonald had
played alongside Led Zeppelin legend John Paul Jones.
Lovers of rock music are in for a real treat at Scunthorpe's
Lincoln Imp this Saturday, when Epworth singer Joe Law (18) takes
the stage with his five-piece band Urchin Child.
The two musicians teamed up in 1966 in a band known as The
Pyramid, to record a minor hit on the Deram label called Summer of
Last Year, with Denny Cordell as the producer.
Two years later the multi-talented John Paul Jones was drafted in
by Jimmy Page to form Led Zeppelin, who then went on to wow fans
with the likes of Stairway to Heaven, ...
