Hundreds of thousands of people are expected to head for the
countryside when farms throw open their gates to the public on
Sunday, June 1.
Open Farm Sunday has now become an established feature of the
summer calendar, and is growing in popularity every year. And, say
organisers, with consumers taking an increasing interest in where
and how their food is produced, they are expecting record crowds
this year.
Neil Darwent, who will be hosting visitors to Walk Farm in Witham
Friary, near Frome (BA11 5EX), said Open Farm Sunday offered one of
the best free days out in the year.
He will be providing tractor and trailer rides, and staging
demonstrations of machinery, milking and sheep shearing, ...
