Former van driver Evelyn Norton, of Darley Abbey, was a great
follower of fashion in her youth.
She was also something of a woman in a man's world, delivering
parts for car dealers T.C Harrison, then in Normanton Road.
In those days, she was not afraid to show a bit of leg. She is
pictured here in a pair of navy hot pants with a matching top in
1973.
She writes: "At the grand old age of 73, I wouldn't dare to wear
them now. But back then, I liked to be fashionable. In the 70s, I
wore hot pants and had tops made to match.
"I worked for T.C. Harrison as a parts delivery van driver for 29
years. In 1986, there was a royal wedding, so I thought I would
dress for the occasion in red, white and ...
