HAYWARD -- One of the things that attracted Cal State East Bay athletic director Debby DeAngelis to the campus in 2001 was its philosophy on athletic scholarships -- it didn't give any.

But that could be changing as early as the 2009-10 academic year, and DeAngelis couldn't be more excited about it.

Cal State announced Thursday it plans to move to Division II of the National Collegiate Athletic Association and compete in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) with 11 other public universities.
