OAKLAND -- A's manager Bob Geren announced before Wednesday's
game that right-hander Chad Gaudin will be moved to the bullpen to
make room for fellow righty Rich Harden, who will start Sunday's
game against the Texas Rangers after coming off the 15-day disabled
list.
Gaudin, who was scheduled to start Friday's series opener in
Arlington, was 3-2 in six starts this season with a 3.75 ERA. Before
he allowed five earned runs in a 6-3 loss to the Rangers on May 3,
Gaudin was an impressive 3-1 with a 1.73 ERA in his past four
starts.
"All I can say is that wherever I'm at, I'm going to pitch well,"
Gaudin said after the A's 6-5, 10-inning win over the Baltimore
