CANTON - The state Department of Environmental Protection will
host two meetings to discuss contamination levels in the lower
Neponset River.
The first meeting is 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Hyde Park branch
of the Boston Public Library at 35 Harvard Ave., Hyde Park.
The second meeting is 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. May 6 at St. Gregory
Elementary School, 2214 Dorchester Ave., Dorchester.
In January, state officials released reports that showed portions
of a 5-mile stretch of the Neponset River from Boston to Canton have
high levels of PCB contamination in fish and soils from centuries of
