Matt Morris is rapidly running out of time to prove he deserves a
spot in the Pirates' rotation.
Morris was hammered again Saturday, failing to survive the second
inning in an 8-4 loss against the Philadelphia Phillies.
Morris' next turn in the rotation is Thursday against the
Washington Nationals. Will he make it?
"It's too early to say anything right now," Russell said after
the game. "We're going to see where we are and continue to see where
he's at. To make that decision tonight is not fair."
After talking with reporters, Russell had a long, closed-door
meeting with general manager Neal Huntington.
