Article: Beth-Center junior excels in many fields

Beth-Center junior softball player Jessica Schinkovec has a rare triple play on her resume: she has been to the WPIAL playoffs, to states, and to Europe.

Well, not for the same reason.

As one of nearly 50 students from across the Commonwealth, she spent three weeks in Europe last summer with the People to People student ambassador program. Selected via her scholastic achievements and through various recommendations, Schinkovec traveled to Greece, Italy and France. In Paris she had an up close and personal view of the Eiffel Tower and an even closer look at Leonardo da Vinci's "Mona Lisa" in the Louvre Museum.
