West Virginia had three sports hit with scholarship reductions as
a result of the NCAA academic progress rates report released
Tuesday.
The school will lose 1.01 scholarships in women's rowing, 0.88
scholarships in wrestling and 0.12 scholarships in men's soccer
because those teams failed to meet academic progress standards.
"Those issues have been addressed with each program, and I am
confident in their improvement plans for the future," WVU athletic
director Ed Pastilong said in a statement. "Overall, our 956 APR
score is strong."
