With theft and vandalism on the rise in Everson, borough council
is asking residents to be wary.
"I'm appalled and people should be outraged," said Mayor Tim
Shoemaker, describing episodes of vandalism as recent as Saturday
during the dedication of Everson's memorial where the "Welcome to
Everson" sign was spray-painted and flags were pushed over.
Councilman Marty Adobato introduced a resolution to set a reward
of $50 for anyone who informs the borough who spray-painted the
welcome sign. Adobato said the guilty party will be prosecuted to
the fullest extent of the law.
"I'm taking this personally," Adobato said.
