Giant Eagle Inc. said it will begin today offering a 90-day
supply of more than 400 generic drugs for $10. The program is
available at 205 Giant Eagle pharmacy locations in Pennsylvania,
Ohio, West Virginia and Maryland. The program builds on Giant
Eagle's success in offering 30-day supplies of some 400 generic
drugs for $4, launched in November 2006. Among the drugs available -
- all requiring a physician's prescription for either $4 for a 30-
day supply, or $10 for a 90-day supply -- are the generic versions
of Pravachol for treating high cholesterol, and Paxil and Prozac,
both used in treating depression. To find a list of low-cost drugs,
go to www.gianteagle.com/pharmacy.
