Sadr rejects Maliki's preconditions to halt assaults on militias

BAGHDAD, April 28 (Xinhua) -- A spokesman for Iraq's radical Shiite cleric Moqtada al-Sadr rejected Prime Minister Nuri al- Maliki's terms of ending his security forces' attacks on Sadr's militias, a website close to Sadr said on Monday.

Salah al-Obeidi, Sadr's spokesman in the holy Shiite city of Najaf, slammed Maliki's four terms as "illogical," the al-Kufa website quoted Obeidi as saying.

Obeidi also accused Maliki of seeking to resolve the problem by force instead of dialogue.
