Interview: China will host successful Olympic Games: senior Egyptian media official

CAIRO, April 30 (Xinhua) -- The Chinese government and people have the ability to host a successful Olympic Games, a senior Egyptian media official said Wednesday.

Abdalla Hassan, chairman and editor-in-chief of the official Egyptian news agency MENA, told Xinhua that China will host a grand opening ceremony for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games with the attendance of many international celebrities.

The Olympics is a big event with global concern, through which China will show its magnificent social and economic achievements, Hassan said.
