Chinese ambassador to Nepal elaborates improvement in Tibetans'
living conditions
KATHMANDU, May 12 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Ambassador to Nepal, Zheng
Xianglin, elaborated Monday the improvement in living conditions of
Tibetans.
Addressing a press conference, Zheng said that about fifty years
ago, the population of Tibet was some one million and the Tibetan
people were living like slaves under serfdom. But now the population
has reached nearly 2.3 million.
The ambassador accused "human rights" activists and some so-
called "non-government organizations" (NGOs) of not knowing what
human rights really are.
