La Plata's softball game against Calvert on Monday was postponed
because of cold weather, but senior outfielder Jamie Bussey did not
take the day off.
She went home and positioned her car so its headlights shone on
the driveway. Then she placed a net against the garage door, set up
her pitching machine and took batting practice for a couple of hours
well past sunset.
"I've reached the all-time [level
] of obsessiveness," Bussey
sighed afterward.
That's the type of fixation Bussey and her teammates have on
