YAKIMA -- Some 800 kids between the ages of 5 and 14 will be
hitting the shores of the Greenway's Sarg Hubbard Pond in waves this
Saturday for the eighth annual Fishing Kids event.
Kids who have already registered -- and the deadline has passed -
- will get a rod and reel, instruction on how to use it, a Fishing
Kids T-shirt and a half-hour of fishing, during which they can keep
the first two trout they reel in, and all for their $5 sign-up fee.
Although preregistration has closed, there are still a few
openings left for the last three 30-minute time sessions (beginning
at 11:15 a.m., noon and 12:45 p.m.). There's no guarantee (and no T-
shirts left), but kids hoping to grab those spots ...
