Article: Date-rape drugs stolen at hospital

AN inquiry has been launched into the alleged theft of drugs from a Yorkshire hospital which can be used for date rape.

It is suspected that large quantities of the short-acting, powerful sedative midazolam were stolen by a member of staff working in the Women and Children's Hospital at Hull Royal Infirmary.

The trust denied the member of staff - believed to be a senior nurse - had been suspended, although they were no longer thought to be working in the same unit.

Colleagues have apparently threatened to quit if the member of staff returns.
