South West MEP Neil Parish has been accused of "arrogance" following his recent fact-finding trip to Brazilian beef farms.

The Brazilian Beef Information Service has delivered a riposte to his criticism of the Brazilian authorities, which Mr Parish accused of "propaganda" over the way his visit was reported.

Somerset-based Mr Parish, chairman of the European Parliament's agriculture committee, is a long-time critic of the Brazilian beef industry, claiming standards fall woefully short of those on EU farms.
