Fuel crisis in Uganda set to end after Kenya allowing in fuel trucks

KAMPALA, Jan. 22 (Xinhua) -- The fuel crisis in Uganda is set to end after the Kenyan government allowed Ugandan oil companies to truck in fuel from Nairobi by road.

The deal was made on Tuesday between the two governments in Nairobi.

The oil refineries in Kenya are located in Mombasa on the Indian Ocean coast and the deal to collect fuel from reserves in Nairobi is believed to be a temporary respite to the shortage in Uganda.

"We have dealt with the Kenyan authorities. Fuel is now available," Ugandan Minister of State for Energy Daudi Migereko was quoted Thursday by local media as saying.
