US, France reaffirm support in building Afghan national army

KABUL, Feb. 14 (Xinhua) -- The United States and France pledged to continue their support in forming a new national army for post- war Afghanistan here Saturday.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of Command and General Staff College (CGSC) held in a military compound, US general Graig Weston said the US and its partners would continue to help Afghanistan build its national army.

"This event marks another important milestone in the creation of the new Afghan National Army," he said. He is in charge of Office of Military Cooperation in Afghanistan.
