Zambian president calls for assistance on HIV/AID

LUSAKA, March 10 (Xinhua) -- Zambian President Levy Mwanawasa said here Wednesday that his country has lost a lot of people because of HIV/AIDS so it needs a lot of assistance on HIV/AIDS.

While meeting with UN Under-Secretary General, who is also United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Administrator, Mark Brown, Mwanawasa said that this pandemic has affected the country' s economic development.

"The students can't receive normal education because the teachers have reduced greatly due to HIV/AIDS," he added.
